Not many happenings this week. Oh, there was Pre-WMC concert by NTU and NYP bands. I went with Arden. It was okay, except there were this group of fucking noisy ah lians who kept talking throughout, and this stupid idiot behind who kept kicking the chair. Bloody annoying. The repertoire was quite good. But I heard the NYP songs a dozen times. Argh!! I could have been playing on that stage. If only I had been more focused last year, damn. Ah, hopefully I'll be able to play for the next concert. Today my family went to Bras Brasah for lunch, after Mass. My brother needed to buy his guitar strings. His strings broke during a sound test on a competition on Friday. He didn't win anything, but he said it was a good experience. Nevertheless, my father was not very impressed. Then he wanted to confiscate my brother's phone, because the bill was too high. Somehow my brother managed to dodge that shell. He's chatting on the phone as I type this.

Let's see.. I spent most of last week on Club Crawl and preparing for it. My Geo Council has crap number of people signing up. Ah well. We actually featured this paper tree made out of newspapers and bamboo sticks. We took the whole of Wednesday to finish the damn thing, but we didn't win any prize. What a bitch! But it was fun. NYP Jam and Hop was boring as a Hippopotamus giving a lecture on Physics. I did manage to get to know some people from my course though. Excellent. Then they had this idol contest. Thank God they had English music! I can't remember who won. I can't be bothered. I came home at 11 that day. I decided to leave early with the PALS people and leave the SU people to die with their lighting equipment. Muahhahahaa! Went for Curia on Sunday. Turnout was terrible. It's like people deserted or got KIA or something (some got sent to the army). I don't even get to see my sen-pais anymore. Terrible, terrible. Monday, hmm. Lessons were quite okay. A few of us went to Sakae Sushi at Bishan. Shit, I only ate 11 plates before giving up. Sushi buffets are overated. Alvin Mok came over at night to discuss the program for the CL camp, which happens in, less than 5 hours time?! Heh, it's the spiritual program that's held at night. The good thing is that it lasts only a hour. The bad news is that we have to do it for 2 nights! The poor fellow must be typing out all the nitty gritty details now. In any case, we settled most of the stuff and we played Star Wars Battlegrounds on the XBox. Yeah, a jolly good fraggin' time. And now would be a good time to turn in.

It’s quite a slow start to the new school year. I went to play pool on Friday, Monday and Tuesday. Didn’t have any money to play today. I had a lot of time to kill today. Lesson ended at 2 pm, went for NYAA briefing at 3 pm, then went to sign my transport expenses for that PALS event at SCGS. I left school at 4pm. I was supposed to meet Eugene, Leafy, Robin, and Angela at six thirty, but it got pushed back to seven. I decided to go for Mass at Sacred Heart, at Tank Road. It was at five thirty. The priest was talking very quickly. Today he said that the best things in life are free, and you can’t buy your way to heaven. This struck me quickly, because the night before I was listening to this song:

Holy crap! Well, the Lord works in mysterious ways. I walked around aimlessly after that, had about an hour to kill. Dinner was at Seoul Garden. Bloody expensive. I’ll never eat there if I can. I did eat a lot though. Shit, now I’m gaining back all the weight I lost in Malaysia. At least the food wasn’t too bad. The company makes it better.

Eugene goes into the army on Saturday and Robin goes in next Thursday. Sigh. Now I’m one of the oldest ones around. Taking my cue from the government’s propaganda,

Today is The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus,

Our Lord appeared to St. Margaret Mary and revealed devotions to His Sacred Heart. She was favoured with many apparitions; the most special ones took place between 1673 and 1675. Jesus appeared as St. Margaret was praying before the Blessed Sacrament and revealed the Love of His Sacred Heart for humanity. He says,

"I promise you, in the excessive mercy of my heart that my all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on the First Friday for nine consecutive months, the grace of final repentance; they shall not die in my disgrace nor without receiving the sacraments; my divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in that last moment."

and promises, 1. I will give them all the graces necessary for their state in life. 2. I will give peace in their families. 3. I will console them in all their troubles. 4. They shall find in My Heart an assured refuge during life and especially at the hour of death. 5. I will pour abundant blessings on all their undertakings. 6. Sinners shall find in My Heart the source and infinite ocean of mercy. 7. Tepid souls shall become fervent. 8. Fervent souls shall speedily rise to great perfection. 9. I will bless the homes in which the image of My Sacred Heart shall be exposed and honoured. 10. I will give to priests the power to touch the most hardened hearts. 11. Those who propagate this devotion shall have their name written in My Heart, and it shall never be effaced. 12. I went to play DOTA with the guys from class after school today. We ended our game at 3pm. I had time to kill until 5.30 pm’s Gunung Tahan gathering, so I went to AMK library to read. I tried looking for The hitch-hiker’s guide to the galaxy, but to no avail. I ended up reading this book about this legendary USMC sniper. The gathering was okay, we had light food and watched the video recorded during the trip. The quality was terrible, and it jammed halfway. Well, it was hard work for our ‘technical crew’. But good effort anyway!

I went to see Star Wars Revenge of the Sith with Joshua after that. Good show. Worth the money. Came home after the show.
